Welcome to

Bumba Base Camp

Is a camping site with a provision of simple accommodation, for those who might not need comping or have no tents. On the cover photo you can see breakfast at Bumba Base Camp.
Our rooms are very simple, where you will only have a bed, flashing toilet, cold shower but with a
provision of hot bucket shower (local African shower) and electricity.

Guests are warmly welcomed; they are never alone in every need. We provide with them an atmosphere
that makes them feel at home and never stressed'' in the evening it is our costume to set fire born for
them, sit around it, and eat fresh local buffet, accompanied with interesting conversations about culture, life and so on.

Our guests we allow them to visit the school, meet children and care takers. They can spend some days with children if they would love too.

We also need and welcome professional teaching volunteers who are willing to sacrifice and live with us
in a simple life and support our local teachers to improve their teaching skills.

Life in Rwanda

However, this camp site was created not only for one man's business purposes, but as source of
contacts from kind heart people, and money to be able to fund our community school activities, such as
feeding children, paying teachers/ care takers, water, electricity bills and revenues.

People / travelers sleeping in our simple rooms; we as bumba base camp, we don't take it for granted,
we see it as a charity act. Because most of what you pay, it's what creates a chance for these poor
children to leave another day, have quality inclusive education and other duties to be met in our
community.

Come many, come all, because the world needs you for the better change.

Helping the local school with part of the profit from accommodation

A portion of our accommodation proceeds goes to support local schools, allowing us to strengthen the education and development of our future generations.

PROJECT ABSTRACT

Motherland School is seeking for a grant of 134540402rwf= [102128$].
Out of this money, 65540402rwf =52439$ will be used to construct six classrooms, to expand the existing facility.

If we are granted a chance to have more class rooms, this will help us in the enrolment of more unprivileged children, in the academic year September 2024-2025.

We shall also be able to control the high volume of children per teacher/ class, since our sitting plan goal is to have 25-30 per class, to ensure better learning and teaching quality.

PURCHASE OF SCHOOL BUS AND ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATION CAR

The rest of the money; 64,000,000rwf = [49689$], will be used to purchase a school bus and administrative operation car.

Objective of purchasing these cars is:

  • A safe, reliable and quick way to school and back, this will facilitate children not to be rained on or face hash sunny dry seasons, since most of them cover long distances and moreover hilly locations.

  • Regular attendance of all pupils.

  • Education for more children from remote areas.

  • Help more families by taking care of their children that cannot afford to come to school and go back by themselves, since most of them are below 5 yrs.' of age.

  • Provide early education as this is a key aspect when fighting poverty and problems related to it.

  • Motivate wealthier parents to bring children to school, due to do easy transport; this will help the funding of the unprivileged ones.

  • The second car will help in quick emergences, such as children are sick and there is need to rush them to the hospital and other administrational duties.
